Our History

The Story of Our Firm

Since 2021, our team has been helping people keep their financial records in order and minimize their tax liability. We’re a relatively young firm, having been founded in 2021, and we’re excited to see what the future awaits.

February 2021

Founding Day

In February 2021, Chimera Accounting Solutions LLC was founded in Akron, Ohio by Ezry Bennett with the goal of growing it large enough to quit his 9-to-5 job.

A Budget Bookkeeping Practice

For several years, Chimera Accounting Solutions LLC was operated by Ezry Bennett and Thomas Mackerty in Kent, Ohio as a small bookkeeping practice which specialized in working with not-for-profits.

2021 to 2022

October 2023

Acquisition of Baylor Services, Inc.

Ezry Bennett bought out Baylor Services, Inc. in Tallmadge, Ohio and finally quit his full-time job. Chimera Accounting Solutions LLC was renamed to Bennett Accounting & Tax LLC (because nobody knew how to pronounce the word "Chimera").

1st Anniversary Celebration

Bennett Accounting & Tax LLC has reached its first anniversary following the acquisition of Baylor Services, Inc. Having started as a solo operation, the company now operates with a team of four professionals.
